We're in Tuscany, Toto!

OK. So we're really still in America's Finest City, but if you sit back in the swing seat and gaze at the mural of blue sky, cypress trees and a little town on the hillside while you sip your espresso beverage, it's pretty easy to believe you're on holiday.

And your dog is really welcome to come with you. Or your cat. Or your bird. We're pet friendly.

Grace Ann Piano, a professional artist, worked on the mural during the summer weeks of blazing sun. Scooting back and forth across the wall on an extension ladder so that customers could still rest in the charm of San Diego, she transformed a green wall into an extraordinary Tuscan scene.

As with anyone who comes to The Espresso Garden with regularity, she has become part of the happy Espresso Garden family. Every Friday morning at 7, she also teaches a yoga class. Those who willingly rise and shine that early are always glad they did, because at 8 a.m. they have achieved a peace and tranquility that will carry them through the last day of the week.

Grace Ann is even considering adding a day to The Espresso Garden yoga offering because of high demand--we'll keep you posted regarding when that class begins.

For now, come on down and enjoy the most beautiful ambiance a coffee shop can offer--quiet music, the sound of falling water, the view of the San Diego sky as well as the Tuscan mural, and a fresh ocean breeze swaying the leaves of the beautiful plants.

He said....

It's like an oasis!

This man who walks by a lot, to get food from the market, but this time stepped in to see that even if you just have a few minutes The Espresso Garden can help you become calm inside your heart and mind.

It's just a few steps and a wooden wall that separate the sidewalk and street from the sound of falling water, quite music and the comfort of a cushioned swing seat. People love it there. Families gather in three generations to catch up with each other; men read their newspapers until other men drift in and out of seats at their tables, they chat, read and part; women paint there; and everyone talks to Darren and Jeremy, who feed their puppies treats and really care about the people who step over the threshold into the paradise they have created for us ordinary folk to enjoy.

Painting at The Espresso Garden

Today I got to wake up with the sun shining (actually I think there was because of honking or sirens), get ready as I felt like it, and then go to the garden and to paint flowers and hang out with Jeremy (one of the co-owners) and Grace Ann (the woman painting the mural of Tuscany on the wall and who helped me achieve more depth in my painting.

Today was an easy day to be happy.

The Espresso Garden is a haven for artists. Someone who isn't one said we were inspirational today.

Look it's The Espresso Garden!
